Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona Coffee – Yay or Nay?

Coffee causes cancer and is bad for your health – Came across such taunts quite often. Right?

But, guess what? That’s just a myth.

Though Instant coffee can surely harm you in some or the other way.

As per the current scenario, due to COVID-19 (Corona Virus) pandemic everything is on a lockdown and no one is allowed to go out.

People are coming up with new recipes to kill time, doing challenges, exercise and what not.

Out of all, I found the ‘DALGONA COFFEE’ trend more intriguing. People are going crazy with this challenge, posting videos and recipes on Instagram / Twitter / Facebook. It’s the latest quarantine trend.

What is Dalgona Coffee?

Dalgona Coffee is the same, plain old Phenti Hui / Whipped Coffee we have been making at home for years.

Dalgona has a lot of origins. As per research, it has origins from Macau, India, and Pakistan where it is known as the whipped coffee.

How to Make Dalgona Coffee?

  • 2 TBSP Coffee Powder
  • 2 TBSP Sugar (as per your taste)
  • 2 TBSP Water
  • 1/2 Cup of Milk

Now, mix the coffee powder, sugar, and hot water and whisk until light and fluffy.

Pour the mixture into a glass of milk and ice.

Well, hope by now you have made your Dalgona Coffee and might have gained enough views / likes on your Instagram feed too.

However, avoid Instant Coffee as much as possible as it is not good for health and will harm you in the near future.

Go for coffee like – Cappuccino, Flat White, Latte. If you prefer milk based coffees and if you are like me, who likes to have black coffee then go for Cold Brew, Americano, Espresso or Frenchpress, Pourover for manual brews.

I will leave it here. If you make your Dalgona Coffee and want us to repost the same, tag – @elth.in on Instagram.
